Patients Win With Big Blue Crush

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 23, 2009) - The 22nd annual Big Blue Crush, the blood donation battle between Kentucky (Kentucky Blood Center) and Tennessee (Medic Regional Blood Center), ended Friday with Kentucky losing by 76 pints. The final score was the University of Tennessee 3,440 and the University of Kentucky 3,364.

Despite the loss, this marks the first time Kentucky has broken the 3,000 donation mark in 10 years, a significant achievement and a much appreciated gift as the Kentucky Blood Center goes into the holiday season.
