Big Blue Madness Ticket Distribution to Impact North Campus Parking Sept. 27-29
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 25, 2017) — As ticket distribution for the 2017 Big Blue Madness event approaches, University of Kentucky Transportation Services would like to advise the campus community of the parking impact to the Memorial Coliseum area associated with the Madness campout. Ticket distribution will begin at 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29, while the line will begin forming at 5 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27.
From 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, through midnight Friday, Sept. 29, the College View Lot, between Wildcat Coal Lodge and Rose Street, will be impacted by the campout and unavailable for parking. This lot is an intermediate E lot and contains 46 spaces. No vehicles may enter the lot after 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, and all vehicles must be removed from the College View Lot by 6 p.m. Any vehicles not removed may be impounded.
Employees with valid intermediate E permits who typically park in the College View Lot have several alternative parking options. Impacted employees may opt to park in other intermediate E lots in the north campus area, which include King Alumni Lot, Linden Walk Lot, Reynolds Lot (E/C9), Scott Street or Taylor-Dickey Lots (E/C9), or the South Limestone Garage. Please visit www.uky.edu/transportation/parking-info_parking-maps to view all campus parking options.
Employees who park in other north campus lots should anticipate possible increases in demand for parking in their preferred area, familiarize themselves with alternative parking options and plan their commute accordingly.
