Free Parking Options for Football Fan Day, Aug. 9
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 8, 2013) ― The University of Kentucky football team will host its annual Fan Day event Friday, Aug. 9. The Commonwealth Stadium gates for the event will open at 6 p.m.
With the increased excitement around UK football for the upcoming season, record attendance is expected. UK Parking and Transportation Services says free parking will be available in many lots surrounding Commonwealth Stadium, starting at 3 p.m. Friday.
Those lots include the K Overflow lot, the Red, Blue and Green lots surrounding the Stadium, the Orange, Blue and Purple grass lots, the Red lot near Gluck Equine Research Center, the E.S. Good Barn lot, the Tobacco Research lot and the Soccer/Softball Complex lot. Parking Structure #1 (corner of Cooper and University Drives) and Parking Structure #7 (corner of Sports Center and Complex Drives) will also be available free of charge. Members of the UK community who park in these lots will not be required to relocate in support of this event. Both the CATS Summer Route and the Medical Center Route will continue to operate as normal.
Members of the campus community are encouraged to tune into 1700 AM (WQKH 253) to hear campus parking and transportation information. The station broadcasts 24 hours, seven days a week.
