See How “We Are UK” For Yourself

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 23, 2011) – On the surface, many colleges and universities seem very similar; they all have residence halls, a library, a few places to eat. But what really makes a university special is its people. At UK, we highlight those folks who make UK unique with the K Week event, “We Are UK.”

Usually reserved just for the campus community, this year we are sharing this special event with the world on our daily news site, UKNow. The live stream will begin at 4:45 p.m. today, Aug. 23, right here on UKNow.

As a bonus to our web viewers, students from UK’s School of Journalism and Wildcat Student Television, UK’s campus TV station, will bring you into the action with behind the scenes interviews with the student organizers and attendees.

“We Are UK” is an exciting event that celebrates the uniqueness of the UK community. This festival includes a variety of free food from Kentucky and from around the world. You'll also see live performances ranging from hip hop to country, poetry to debate, and other random talents from members of the UK family.

“We Are UK” is part of K Week, UK’s fall welcome back week for new and returning students. For more information on K Week, visit www.uky.edu/kweek.
