UK Alumni Association Honors Members

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 14, 2020)  The UK Alumni Association honors its members during Member Appreciation Week Feb. 17-22. The week culminates with University of Kentucky Founders Day Feb. 22.

Starting Feb. 17, all members (those who have completed at least 12 credit hours at UK), Life Members and Active Members will receive a 20% discount on UK-branded gifts and apparel at the University of Kentucky Bookstore, in the store and online at https://uky.bncollege.com using the code ALUMNI20.

Beginning Tuesday, Feb. 18, Life Members and Active Members are encouraged to show their Wildcat spirit by posting a picture with Flat Wildcat on social media. All who share a photo with Flat Wildcat using #FlatWildcat in the post will earn an entry into our UK Men’s Basketball Package Sweepstakes. The prize package includes two tickets to the Auburn University vs. UK basketball game at Rupp Arena Saturday, Feb. 29; a $150 gift card to Tony’s of Lexington; and an overnight stay at the Hilton Downtown Lexington.

An additional entry in the sweepstakes will be awarded to those who log in to the UK Alumni Association app and complete a short form. Find the app on the App Store or Google Play by searching “UK Alumni Association.”

A service project is slated at Sayre Healthcare Center Wednesday, Feb. 18. Join fellow Wildcats to bring Big Blue Nation to the facility’s residents with a performance by the acoUstiKats, a visit by the UK Cheerleaders, a hot chocolate bar, and DanceBlue card making station. On Thursday, Feb. 20, Life and Active Members can spin the virtual Wildcat Wheel O’ Fun to win UK swag. Life and Active Members should be on the lookout for an email with a link to this opportunity. The first 500 winners will receive a prize.

On Friday, Feb. 21, the winner of the UK Men’s Basketball Package sweepstakes will be announced through the UK Alumni Association’s social media platforms. Be sure to follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to see who wins.

Saturday, Feb. 22, is UK Founders Day. Assemble a team, put on your thinking caps and come out to compete for a $100 first place prize with your fellow Wildcats at the Pregame UK Trivia event from 2-4 p.m. at West Sixth Brewing in Lexington. The event is free and includes one drink ticket per person, snacks and cake to celebrate UK’s 155th birthday. A cash bar will be available. Capacity is limited.
