80 UK Student-Athletes Earn SEC Academic Honors

LEXINGTON, Ky. (June 30, 2016) — Student-athletes from the University of Kentucky's spring sports teams combined to earn a total of 80 spots on the Southeastern Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll, the league announced Wednesday.
Kentucky had 20 honorees in baseball, more than any other school in the league in that sport. In addition, UK had six from men’s golf, six from women’s golf, 12 in softball, five in men’s tennis, five in women’s tennis, 14 in men’s track and field and 12 in women’s track and field.
The 2015-16 spring SEC Academic Honor Roll is based on grades form the 2015 summer and fall terms, along with the 2016 spring term. Among other qualifications, a student-athlete must have a grade-point average of 3.0 or above for either the preceding academic year or career at that institution. Prior to being nominated, a student-athlete must have successfully completed 24 semester hours or 36 quarter hours toward a degree at the nominating institution.
