Pharmacy Student Lands Prestigious Mayo Internship

LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 30, 2013) — Christopher Terry, a second-year University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy student from Owensboro, Ky., has been accepted into the prestigious Mayo School of Health Sciences Summer Pharmacy Internship. Terry, who is president of the Class of 2015, is one of four pharmacy students from across the nation selected to take part in this program.

The Mayo School of Health Sciences at Mayo Clinic program offers salaried 10-week internships to students in either a hospital/inpatient or clinical/outpatient setting. Terry’s internship will be in the clinic/outpatient setting. The program is designed to offer student pharmacists in-depth exposure to pharmaceutical services at one of the world’s premier medical centers. Terry will work at one of two hospitals in the Mayo system – Saint Marys Hospital or Rochester Methodist Hospital.

This is the second consecutive year a UK pharmacy student was selected to participate in the Mayo Intern Program. In 2012, Zachary Thompson, a student from Cadiz, Ky., was chosen as an intern.
