LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 9, 2026) — Make this Friday the 13th sweet instead of scary — pedal over to University of Kentucky Transportation Services' table during Winter Bike to Campus Day,  11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13, at Alumni Commons.

Cyclists can enjoy free hot chocolate, cookies and swag. You must be on a bike or other form of micromobility to participate.

Wildcat Wheels’ mobile repair station will be on-site and available for quick tune-ups. Staff can also answer questions about bike programs.

“Winter Bike to Campus Day is an annual event, designed to celebrate commuters who choose micromobility options to get to, from and around campus, especially during the winter,” said Joey Daniels, UK Transportation Services’ alternative transportation manager.

UK Transportation Services invests in campus bicycle infrastructure and services designed to make it easy and enjoyable for students and staff to choose cycling as a reliable commuting option. Most recently, the department opened a brand-new Wildcat Wheels Bike Shop, located on the first floor of Sports Center Garage.

Stop by Alumni Commons Feb. 13 to meet the team and visit the Wildcat Wheels website for cold weather cycling tips.

If you have questions or need more information, email transportation@uky.edu or call UK Transportation Services’ customer service center at 859-257-5757.

As the state’s flagship, land-grant institution, the University of Kentucky exists to advance the Commonwealth. We do that by preparing the next generation of leaders — placing students at the heart of everything we do — and transforming the lives of Kentuckians through education, research and creative work, service and health care. We pride ourselves on being a catalyst for breakthroughs and a force for healing, a place where ingenuity unfolds. It's all made possible by our people — visionaries, disruptors and pioneers — who make up 200 academic programs, a $476.5 million research and development enterprise and a world-class medical center, all on one campus.
