UK's CCS Brings Big Names to Computational Summit
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 17, 2019) — The University of Kentucky Center for Computational Sciences (CCS) is hosting the 3rd Annual Commonwealth Computational Summit at the Gatton Student Center conference facilities, Oct. 14-15, 2019.
The summit presents information related to computing and analytics for industry and academia. CCS encourages anyone interested in new information technology to attend.
“Most of the information given during the summit can be applied to a very wide spectrum of engineering, science, health and business,” said Tony Elam, associate director for CCS.
This year — for the first time — the summit will be two days. Monday, Oct. 14, will feature presentations and mini-workshops from well-known companies such as Dell, Google, Intel, IBM, Lenovo, Mathworks, Microsoft, National Instruments, NERSC-LBL, NVIDIA, ORAU, Red Hat, SoftIron and Spectra Logic. Tuesday, Oct. 15, will have three keynote speakers, technical talks, networking opportunities and more.
The summit also hosts a student poster competition. The top two winners will be offered all-expense paid trips to the National Supercomputing Conference in Denver and third place will receive a new Intel computer system. The deadline to register for the competition is Sept. 19.
Thanks to sponsors, the event is free to the public, but registration is required for sessions with limited seating. For more information and a full agenda visit https://summit.ccs.uky.edu/ccs_summit/ or contact Tony Elam at tony.elam@uky.edu.
