UK HealthCare’s ‘Be Healthy Bash’ is Sept. 20

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 2, 2025) – UK HealthCare and UK Cooperative Extension Service is inviting community members to the annual “Be Healthy Bash,” a free festival dedicated to nutrition, fitness and emotional wellness. The event is 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Sept. 20 at the Fayette County Extension Office, 1140 Harry Sykes Way in Lexington.

Activities include:

  • Health screenings
  • Wellness resources and activities
  • Safety education
  • Cooking demonstrations
  • Taste testing
  • Inflatables
  • Smoothie bike
  • Meet & greet with UK’s Wally Cat
  • Petting zoo
  • Free farm stand voucher
  • Vaccinations
  • Firetruck and the Operation Copsicle van
  • Face painting
  • Music

“The Be Healthy Bash is about empowering people to take charge of their health,” said Kristen Stakelin, M.D., medical director at the Barnstable Brown Diabetes Center. “With access to nutritious foods, expert guidance, and fun activities, we’re making healthy living something everyone can achieve.”

This fun-filled event is presented by UK HealthCare and University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service in Coordination with:

“UK’s Be Healthy Bash is where knowledge, resources, and community come together for one incredible day,” said Trudi Matthews, UK HealthCare’s chief of value-vased programs, public policy and community initiatives. “By sharing what we know and do best, we’re helping Kentuckians live healthier, happier lives.”
