Job Club Announces 2017 Summer Schedule

LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 30, 2017) The University of Kentucky Alumni Association, Fayette County Cooperative Extension Services (part of UK College of Agriculture, Food and Environment) and UK Human Resources Staff Career Development announce the Job Club 2017 summer schedule.

The purpose of the Central Kentucky Community Job Club is to provide a positive environment for motivated job seekers to meet, connect, share and learn. The free group is open to the public and meets the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at the Fayette County Cooperative Extension office, 1140 Harry Sykes Way (formerly Red Mile Place, off Red Mile Road) in Lexington.

Business attire is encouraged. Convenient, free parking is available. See the Job Club summer schedule below.

Job Club is for those who are motivated and currently out of work, underemployed or looking to make a career transition. In addition, recruiters and employers are always welcome and introduced to Job Club attendees.   • June 13: “Build Your Brand and Set Yourself Up for Success with LinkedIn,” presented by Ashley Gei, career development coordinator with Bluegrass Community and Technical College
  • June 27: “Resumes That Clearly Represent You,” presented by Elisha Merideth, recruiter with Aerotek
  • July 11: “Research Your Target Organization Before the Interview: What to Know and How to Find Out,” presented by Bob Callen, Lexington Public Library
  • July 25: “How to Land Your Next Job,” presented by Lisa James, division director at Robert Half
  • Aug. 8: Speed Networking Event
  • Aug. 22: “Ask the Career Counselor,” featuring a panel of regional career counselors
