UK Employees Can Now Make Payroll Deduction Gifts Online Through myUK

LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 27, 2015 ) — As a result of a new collaboration between University of Kentucky Human Resources and the UK Office of Development, employees can now enroll online to make gifts to the university through payroll deduction. Accessed through the myUK benefits page, online enrollment streamlines payroll deduction giving and makes it easier for employees to support one or more areas of the university.

“For years, faculty and staff have been giving to many different UK initiatives through payroll deduction,” said Anne Lichtenberg, UK director of annual giving. “In the past, employees had to print out a form and submit it via campus mail to sign up for payroll deduction giving. Now, enrolling is as simple as logging on to myUK.”

Employees can initiate payroll deduction giving at any time, but Lichtenberg invites faculty and staff to consider supporting the university as they review their employee options during open enrollment.

Using the online payroll deduction feature, employees can select the gift fund or funds they wish to support, and decide the amount of the gift to be deducted each pay period.

“The university has many different gift funds supporting everything from DanceBlue to veteran’s scholarships to the CRISIS program, which assists employees experiencing financial hardship,” Lichtenberg explained.

“We couldn’t fit all of the university’s gift funds into one list, so we’ve pre-loaded about 40 funds that represent all of the colleges and a variety of university-wide initiatives. And if employees don’t see the gift fund or area of the university they wish to support, they should select ‘other’ as the gift designation option, and someone from the Office of Development will be in touch with them to determine the specific gift fund desired.”
